I CAN’T wait to get up and running for the 2005 season. Last year was not a good one for me as far as results went, with the outcome being that I had to go back to Qualifying School in Italy to get my card for this year.

Rather like the previous season, I left it to the last nerve-jangling minute - but it was great to retain my card. Although I missed too many cuts last year, there were signs in just about every tournament that certain areas of my game were improving. Those should be helped this year by my new MP-30 irons and a new Mizuno MP 001 driver.

One plus was my Driving accuracy, which improved to 78.43%, giving me 22nd place in the Tour. My Putting average also improved to 30.30 per round, or 1.68 per hole (21st on Tour).

With Greens in Regulation at only 53.70 %, it was pretty obvious that I had to work on my long irons and fairway woods.

That’s exactly what I have been doing over the winter, with my coach Andy Griffiths of Llanymynech Golf Club - and using the fabulous practice facilities at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield (See 2005 News page).

I certainly feel more confident about this year and with two seasons now behind me on the pro tour, I’m coping better with all the travelling and different conditions we meet every week.
